I really enjoy this series. Although, we lived in Dyker Heights..10th ave and 75th street, Sunday afternoons me, mom and dad would go “window shopping” along 5th avenue in the 50′s. Stores were not open on Sunday back then. Mom & Dad always went to Bernt’s Jewelers because “han er norske”.
Keep writing…I know there are many more stories to tell, and lots more Norwegian stores up along 5th ave starting with “Scandinavian Specialites” next to Gino’s Pizza.
